Quick answer
Installing the profile does not start a bundle. A bundle starts automatically on its first supported data/network use in its coverage area; its validity then runs according to the plan. Check the bundle details for its allowance, coverage and expiry.
Profile installation and bundle activation
The eSIM is the reusable profile stored on your phone. A bundle is a separate purchase with its own coverage, allowance and validity. Installing the profile or confirming I have installed this eSIM does not itself start a bundle.
First use in coverage
There is no scheduled-start or Start now step to select. A bundle starts automatically on its first supported data/network use in coverage. If you are already in a covered location, using that line may start it immediately.
Use the start/expiry information shown for the bundle. Do not calculate the remaining validity from the installation date or payment date.
Ready and queued bundles
A paid bundle may show Ready · awaiting first use. A replacement purchased manually or by auto top-up can wait before use; payment does not mean its validity has already started.
Each bundle has its own allowance and validity. Buying more data does not extend the previous bundle’s expiry or merge all purchases into one allowance.
Reading usage in the app
Open Bundles and pull down to refresh. Remaining data and status depend on provider readings and can lag behind phone activity. Your phone’s own counters may cover a different period.
Trip totals can summarize your purchases across bundles; use the individual active bundle to check usable allowance and expiry. Unlimited plans do not have a finite remaining-data percentage.
When VPN access becomes active
Whenever your data bundle is active, your included VPN access is active too—at no extra cost. Use native eSIMbundle apps on your phone, laptop and desktop at the same time, over mobile data or Wi-Fi.
Sign in with the same account and tap Connect on each device. If your first bundle is awaiting first use, VPN access starts when it becomes active. Check bundle status if access becomes unavailable after expiry.
After expiry
Keep your eSIM installed between trips so it is ready for your next bundle. If you remove it, you can reinstall it by scanning your QR code again. Find the code in the eSIMbundle app under Account → My eSIM → Set up your eSIM.
Common questions
Does a top-up extend my old bundle?
No. It adds a separate bundle with its own allowance, activation and validity.
Why does the app still say awaiting first use?
You may be outside coverage, using Wi-Fi or another SIM, or waiting for a provider status update. Confirm your data line and refresh; do not reinstall to force activation.
