Quick answer
Before departure, install the eSIMbundle app and reusable eSIM. At your destination, turn on the eSIM line, select it for data and enable its Data Roaming setting.
Before your flight
Open the eSIMbundle app and sign in with the account used for your purchase. Go to Account → My eSIM → Set up your eSIM. On This phone, tap Install eSIM on this phone and follow the phone’s approval prompts. If direct installation is unavailable, use the QR code tab or the manual SM-DP+ address and activation code.
Check your destination coverage in Bundles. Prepare the app’s VPN screen and save the arrival instructions offline. A bundle awaiting first use may not yet provide VPN access.
Connect when you arrive
Installing the profile does not start a bundle. A bundle starts automatically on its first supported data/network use in its coverage area; its validity then runs according to the plan. Check the bundle details for its allowance, coverage and expiry.
- Turn off airplane mode and turn on the installed eSIM line.
- The installed profile is usually called Webbing in your phone’s settings. If you renamed it, use your chosen name. Select this line for mobile data and turn Data Roaming on for this line when you are ready to connect at your destination.
- Turn off automatic mobile-data switching to your home SIM if your phone offers it. Keep roaming off for the home line unless you intend to use its roaming service.
- Check Bundles in the app for destination coverage and remaining data. Test a simple webpage with Wi-Fi off and VPN disconnected.
- If it does not connect, briefly toggle airplane mode, then allow the phone time to register. Use the No Service guide if it cannot find a network.
Check the bundle status
Open Bundles and refresh. A purchased replacement bundle may be Ready · awaiting first use until it is needed. Do not confuse a queued bundle with an unpaid order.
An active bundle must cover your current location and have usable data and validity. Usage/status updates may take time to arrive from the network.
Connect VPN after mobile data works
Open VPN in the eSIMbundle app, choose a country and connect. Access being active does not mean the VPN is connected. For China or Russia, use Change for China/Russia → China & Russia if needed.
Try a simple webpage first with VPN off to separate mobile-data problems from VPN problems. VPN cannot repair missing cellular coverage or an exhausted bundle.
If you are still offline
For No Service, check coverage and network registration. For signal without internet, check your data line, roaming and bundle. For a VPN-only problem, use the VPN guide below.
Use No Service troubleshooting if the phone cannot register; use the data guide if you have signal but pages do not load. Keep the eSIM installed.
Common questions
Will switching off airplane mode be enough?
Only if the eSIM is enabled, selected for data, has roaming on and has an eligible bundle in coverage. Check each setting.
Can I connect the VPN before first use?
The app can be prepared beforehand, but VPN connection requires active qualifying bundle access.
