How to set up your eSIMbundle eSIM on Android

Install from the eSIMbundle Android app or use QR/manual setup, then select the eSIM for mobile data and enable roaming.

Quick answer

Open the eSIMbundle app and sign in with the account used for your purchase. Go to Account → My eSIM → Set up your eSIM. On This phone, tap Install eSIM on this phone and follow the phone’s approval prompts. If direct installation is unavailable, use the QR code tab or the manual SM-DP+ address and activation code.

Check your Android phone

Your exact phone and regional variant must support an enabled eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Android version alone does not prove compatibility. Use reliable Wi-Fi.

Direct installation needs Android 9 or later and a supported device/build. Device permissions or carrier restrictions can prevent direct installation even when QR setup is supported.

Install on this phone

  1. Open the eSIMbundle app and sign in with the account used for your purchase. Go to Account → My eSIM → Set up your eSIM.
  2. Choose This phone → Install eSIM on this phone.
  3. Approve the Android system request to download or activate the eSIM. Do not close the flow before it finishes.
  4. Check your phone’s SIM settings for the new profile. If direct install is unavailable, continue with QR or manual setup.

QR and manual fallback

Open QR code in the app and display the code on another trusted screen. On Samsung, look under Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. On Pixel, look under Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM / Set up an eSIM. Menu names vary.

Choose the QR scanner and follow the prompts. For manual setup, use the option to enter an activation code or details manually, and copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code exactly from the app. Do not invent an APN or confirmation code.

Confirm installation before you travel

Check that the profile appears in your phone’s SIM settings. Opening the installer or Settings does not prove installation completed.

I have installed this eSIM records your confirmation in the app. Marked as installed is different from Installed, which can reflect provider or usage evidence. A delayed status alone is not a reason to reinstall.

Keep your eSIM installed between trips so it is ready for your next bundle. If you remove it, you can reinstall it by scanning your QR code again. Find the code in the eSIMbundle app under Account → My eSIM → Set up your eSIM.

Connect when you arrive

Installing the profile does not start a bundle. A bundle starts automatically on its first supported data/network use in its coverage area; its validity then runs according to the plan. Check the bundle details for its allowance, coverage and expiry.

  1. Turn off airplane mode and turn on the installed eSIM line.
  2. The installed profile is usually called Webbing in your phone’s settings. If you renamed it, use your chosen name. Select this line for mobile data and turn Data Roaming on for this line when you are ready to connect at your destination.
  3. Turn off automatic mobile-data switching to your home SIM if your phone offers it. Keep roaming off for the home line unless you intend to use its roaming service.
  4. Check Bundles in the app for destination coverage and remaining data. Test a simple webpage with Wi-Fi off and VPN disconnected.
  5. If it does not connect, briefly toggle airplane mode, then allow the phone time to register. Use the No Service guide if it cannot find a network.

If Android cannot add the eSIM

Check whether the profile already exists before trying again. If the installer reports an unsupported operation, use QR/manual setup if your phone supports it. Carrier locks or lack of eSIM support cannot be fixed by reinstalling the app.

If the profile appears in SIM settings, installation is complete: select it for data and enable its roaming setting. If it is missing, retry on Wi-Fi using the QR code or manual details from My eSIM.

Common questions

Why is direct install unavailable?

Direct installation depends on the phone’s eSIM support, Android build and permissions. On a compatible phone, use the QR code or manual details from My eSIM instead.

Which SIM needs roaming?

The installed profile is usually called Webbing in your phone’s settings. If you renamed it, use your chosen name. Select this line for mobile data and turn Data Roaming on for this line when you are ready to connect at your destination.
